Notary Seal
Nowadays, an embossed notary seal is preferred not only by most notary
public but also by the law. There are many advantages using a notary
seal embosser, as compared to the traditional rubber stamp. More and
more authorities are requiring an embossed seal because documents are
sure to be more secure. Compared to a rubber stamp, an embossed notary
seal prevents document fraud, forgery, and tampering. Furthermore, the
number of notary public offices using embossed notary seals to
concurrently press numerous pages is increasing. An embossed seal is
also of much use especially when the government asks for clearly
reproduced seals.
It is ideal to buy an embosser from well-known manufacturers, because
others may not contain all the important parts of an embosser. A perfect
embosser is composed of the double-stick tape wafer, the plastic, the
metal seal die, the insert, and the handle. To make sure that the right
seal would be produced, manufacturers use an engraving program in their
computers. Notary details are then entered to the computer. Furthermore,
inside the engraving machine, the metal die must be placed properly
before the computer notifies the cutting machine. After that, the die
must be cleaned so that a counter made of black plastic could be
created. The counter is the one that contains the engraved letters that
will represent the seal. However, only few manufacturers prefer to
create the counter through injection molding, though there are various
methods to make it, because the necessary tools needed to create one
cost around $20,000.
